Day One Accountability: Ending the Albany Pay-to-Play Culture

For too long, New York has been governed by crisis management and political favors. I am not a career politician; I am an expert in institutional reform. My administration will launch a Real-Time Spending Dashboard, allowing every New Yorker to track exactly where their tax dollars are going—from migrant services to MTA repairs—down to the penny.

2026 Targeted Updates

A. Ending the Affordability Squeeze

The Reality New York’s housing vacancy rate has collapsed to 1.4%—the lowest ever recorded. Rents are surging, wages are not, and working families are being pushed out. This is not a market cycle. It is a housing emergency—and Albany has failed to act.

The 2027 Plan

Emergency Housing Initiative: 50,000 Units Immediate action using executive authority to convert underutilized state-owned properties into 50,000 mixed-income homes by 2030.

No Tax on Tips—Period Eliminate state income tax on tipped wages to put real money back into the pockets of service and hospitality workers.

Utility Rate Freeze & Accountability Freeze delivery rate increases for two years and launch a full audit of infrastructure spending.

This is not about managing decline. It is about making New York livable again.

B. Smarter Transit & Infrastructure Strategy

  • The Problem: The January 2026 fare hike to $3.00 is a tax on the working class, while congestion pricing remains a legal and financial mess.

  • Transit Affordability & Accountability Plan: Oppose further MTA fare hikes until a full, independent forensic audit identifies billions lost to mismanagement.

Modernizing the Commute: Reliability with Accountability Establish clear reliability standards and rider protections, including automatic fare credits when service failures exceed thresholds.

Public Safety & the Mental Health Crisis

The Challenge Public safety is now the top concern for New Yorkers. Retail theft is hurting local businesses, and untreated mental illness has turned subway platforms into crisis zones.

The Public Safety & Care Strategy

Restore Quality-of-Life Policing Address repeat violent offenders, transit disorder, and visible mental health crises.

Bridge to Home: Treatment, Not Transit Expand psychiatric bed capacity and deploy mobile crisis response units statewide.

Safety and compassion are not competing values. New York can—and must—deliver both.
